Doug, The Explanation:

I like playing with the meaning of words and see language as a blank canvas for expression, unlimited by the rules of grammar or dictionary definitions.  One manifestation of this is “Doug.”   During my transition into high school I related to the new environment using humor and language.  I always liked the sound of the name, but  began using it in a completely different context.  “Doug” became a substitute for a fashionable, well dressed person.  I delighted in asking friends “what’s good Doug?” and in responding to questions about how I was doing with “Dougin.”  Soon I became known by friends, teachers, coaches and pretty much everyone as “Doug.”  Doug remains something of an alter-ego and has become a part of my personal story.

Retro Futurism: Animated portrayals of the future often reflect a dystopia. These pictures help me escape the dystopia of 2020.
